Remington Norman was educated at Oxford University where he read Philosophy, Psychology and Physiology, obtained a Doctorate and taught. His lifelong interest in social and current affairs and in sound argument evolved from the study of these disciplines and is evident in this book.
He has also written two multi-award winning wine books – The Great Domaines of Burgundy which unravels the complexities of this region and discusses its finest producers is now in its third edition and Rhone Renaissance which chronicles the finest Rhone and Rhone-style wines from France and around the world.
Both books have received international acclaim and Remington has travelled extensively lecturing and presenting wines to both professional and amateur audiences. In 1996 his contribution to wine knowledge and appreciation was recognised when he was elected to the elite Academie Internationale du Vin, whose membership includes many of the world’s top wine personalities and winemakers. His recreational interests include golf, skiing and opera. He and his wife divide their time between England and Cape Town, where they also have a home.
